Dear friends en fans, I’ve put this invite online before, but I hadn’t translated it to English yet. So here it is, finally, in English: you are cordially invited to my book launch on Saturday 19 April 2025! This event will take place at Ballon Rouge, Zaagmolendrift 24 in Rotterdam. After a few months of hard work my best friend (and the best graphic designer) Auke Triesschijn and I sent my book to the printers a few weeks ago, and on the 19th of April you’ll be able to run your fingers through the crispy fresh pages. The book contains 16 years of art: all my paintings, plus a selection of prints and drawings. The book is designed around a transcribed conversation between Auke and myself. Although these texts are in Dutch, the book consists mostly of images: from complete works and studio views to details of paintings… Come and have a look! Doors open at 10h / 10AM and close at 19h / 7PM, and there’s a lot to see and do:

11 h / 11 AM: painting eggs and enjoying brunch in Inge’s egg painting studio Since it’s Easter weekend, I figured we should combine the two themes of the day: eggs and art. Enjoy a lovely brunch (catered by the amazing Maria Brederode!) and enjoy the book and the exhibition …while you let your kids go wild in Inge’s egg painting studio. Fun for everyone! Of course you are also very much allowed to channel your inner child and have a go at the egg painting yourself.
15 h / 3 PM: Artist talk with Auke & Inge Designer Auke Triesschijn and I will tell you all you’d like to know about the book and how it came about – bring your best questions!
16 uur: Yes Darling sings the praises of the Muse Stories of the love for a muse is what Yes Darling shall bring us. One of the band members has been my muse since I painted her for the first time in 2015, so it’s all very fitting. Let’s celebrate the arts and raise our glasses to the muses!
17 uur: Reprise! Inge’s Art Bingo! About 5 years ago I hosted my first open studio art bingo, right before the country went into its first covid lockdown. Seems about time that we start drawing some balls again. For €10,- you can buy a bingo card (with a free shot of the traditional Fristy-whiskey on the side). Fun guaranteed while having a crack at the grand prizes: the first prize being one of my artworks.
The doors will close at 19h / 7 PM, but whoever wants to can join us for a drink at Café Faas across the street afterwards (albeit at your own expense)
Some final pieces of information: If you’ve bought the book (or some other goodies) during my crowdfunding campaign on Voordekunst, you can pick it up during the book presentation. If you haven’t pre-ordered, the book will also be for sale on the day. You don’t have to make a reservation, but full = full, and “op = op” 😉
