Crowdfunding a book!

For my English speaking fans and friends a rather late post: I’m making a book about my work! My dear friend Auke Triesschijn (graphic designer and printmaker extraordinair) will be in charge of the design. The book will contain just about every piece of art that I made in the last 15+ years, since I graduated the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2009.  Because the book will be mostly in Dutch, I hadn’t considered reaching out to my non-dutch audience. However, the book will mostly have images in it, and could be an interesting addition to your art library even if you don’t read Dutch. The book will consist of 272 full-colour pages, and my works can be viewed both chronologically and by theme/subject. To finance this project I’ve started a crowdfunding campaign on voordekunst (click here), a Dutch crowdfunding platform for cultural and artistic projects. This is where you can pre-order the book, or make a different donation. I’ve already reached over 80% of the target amount, thanks to many friends and fans, the municipality of Rotterdam and the Cultuurfonds. The Cultuurfonds have even offered to double the donations made between now and Sunday 15 December!
